Kids Challenge Kickoff

February 8, 2013

We kicked off our fourth annual Sports Backers Kids Challenge on Monday, February 4th. The students were excited and ready to run! Below are a few highlights from the week.

Many students pleaded “just one more lap” during P.E.

There were opportunities for cross grade interactions and siblings were able to run together.

Several K-2 students decided to spend their whole recess running.

There was plenty of cheer and high fives to go around.

Many took the opportunity to run with their peers.

A good time was had by all!

I saw a couple of the third graders on Wednesday at the climbing gym and they were so excited about starting the challenge. It was the first thing they told me about when I saw them. So fun to see how much they had looked forward to starting! (Also awesome to see them so confidently climbing at Peak!) What a wonderful traditional to have started for them!! Can’t wait to see them at the Kid’s Mile at the 10K!

I love that the kids want to keep running even when not asked to……

It’s interesting to note the intensity on the faces of the older students v. the sheer joy that is writ on the faces of the younger ones.

Looking at these photos made my morning. Thanks, as always, Renee, for the joy – and health – you bring to our children.

The enthusiasm is contagious. The pictures are beautiful and listening to the 6th graders in home room talk about it you would think there was a pot of gold at the end of each mile…maybe there is!
